Arts Psychology Parent Toolkit

How can the arts be so important to your health?

Take a look at our theory we have applied and discovered specifically with stimulating the brain and how the arts play a powerful impact in the change of the way the brain functions.

We are all aware of the main named arts. There are arts that are never mentioned from gardening, cooking, sewing, walking on the beach to embracing culture through food. When you understand how you can overstimulate one side of the brain, causing stress within your life. You can make a change by balancing both hemispheres of the brain, and it is a lot easier than you think!

Introduction To Module 1 - Role Of The Mother & Father
Welcome to module 1. Please watch this video to get you started & know what to expect. Remember that the tools are guidelines and simple steps to start you on your journey of discovering how a child's brain grows and develops in the home. As this is an interactive course, it is about you adapting and changing the techniques to suit your life and child's needs. As changes can feel overwhelming, when you do feel you need a bit of suggestions to your changes or support, just send us an email.
Role Of The Mother/Father (Protector Or Nurturer)
Discover how introducing a role of a mother & father figure is very important. If children do not have 'their parents' close, outside people in the close circle always naturally can provide this support. Please be aware that although I refer to a mother and father, this can also be the masculine and feminine role within a family dynamic as you may have same sex parenting. This is again, to help you understand the role and identify this within your family structure.
How Children Learn From Their Parents
Discover how children learn from their parents as well as people who are within their 'safe' circle & spend a lot of time with them. Parents will naturally blame themselves. This module is to help you understand where and how you have learnt from your parents.
Where Children's Stress & Anxiety Start
Discover how and where your child's stress & anxiety begin. A lot of the times we assume that anxiety is from outside influences. Learn how to identify where you play a part in teaching your children how to cope with stress & anxiety
How We Speak To Each Other (Hidden Unspoken Abuse)
Discover how as a child you are a blank canvas that is painted with opinions from outside & your safe circle influences. These influences teach your children how to speak to themselves & to people. The person who is the hardest on you - is always yourself, other people will be a mirror to highlight this

Discover how the brain grows and develops in an environment

Introduction to module 2 - Brain Development
Discover how knowlege understanding how the brain works, gives you knowledge how to identify when your stress is linked to your brain being unbalanced. I explain this in a very simple way for you to understand the impact our environments have with our development. What is wonderful to know, is that if something is not working, when you change it, you see the results immediately. So please don't blame yourself because once you put changes in place, it gives you clarity.
Role Of The Left Brain
Discover how the left brain thinks, works & supports you to live as well as function as a human. We are not left or right brain thinkers (which has finally been published by researchers). The brain needs both sides to work together as a team, giving you coping strategies to handle change as an adult. The left brain gives us structure and routine to feel in control, as well as look at situations from a step by step process.
Role Of The Right Brain
Discover how the right brain thinks, works & supports you to live as well as function as a human. Learn how the right brain teaches us how to take what processes we have been given, explore, create, change, adapt and push ourselves out of our comfort zones whilst finding solutions creatively. When either side of the brain has been overstimulated, it has a ripple effect in facing emotions, trying to understand them or know what to do when things do not work out the way we want them to.
How To Balance The Brain & Why
Discover how both sides of the brain need each other and work together. Until recently, it was finally discovered how we use both sides of the brain to function as a human and we are no longer 'left' or 'right' brain thinkers. Learn simple and effective tools and techniques to observe, acknowledge and address where you feel you keep repeating the same mistakes with frustration. The age old saying; 'until you know how, you will not make a change'.
How To Fill In Your Form
This extra bonus to the course will give you tips to self reflect when working with your child. Understanding how your emotions and your thinking will teach your child, when you can be aware of what your triggers are that can add to your child's frustration, you will be able to change your situations. There is a wonderful lady who I do recommend to use who supports parents to acknowledge and work through their emotions. You can find Karla's details under the Support material module.

This module will give you insight into the world of the balancing of the brain through play.
How A Child Works Through Stress
Discover what a child will find overwhelming, what does stress mean to them and what their brain is learning every day. With learning how to do things that you have forgotten as a parent and do naturally without discovery invovled, it is no wonder why children can feel that they are not understood at times. When you can remember this when you are frustrated, you will find you have a clearer communication and understanding of your child and their emotions

EFT Technique 1 - Tapping Under The Eye
Tapping under the eye. The reason I have focused on this EFT point, is because it is connected to the meridian within your stomach area. When you or your child is stressed, anxious and feel out of control, the area which feels this physically is connected to the stomach area. This point is a quick access to helping you relax. It is all about practise and taking the time to trial the technique.
EFT Technique 2 - Tapping on the side of the hand
Tapping on the side of the hand is another meridian which I suggest to children to use, especially when they are writing their exams. You can tap on the side of your hand underneath the table or even just press the side of your hand like a button switch. This EFT point is there for children to be able to do the technique without feeling that others can see what they are doing
EFT Technique 3 - With Affirmations
EFT is a very usefu technique. When you can understand how words are very powerful (which you have already learnt from this course), here are a few tips in how to use affirmations (which are saying words aloud whilst using the EFT technique)
EFT - Three Breath Process
Your breathing is very important as it sends oxygen to the brain. Many of us naturally breathe into the top parts of our body and do not always know how to fill our lungs completely. When you can understand the breath process, this will add to supporting your child calming down.
